Doug Jones

While serving as U.S. Attorney for Northern Alabama in the early 2000s, Doug Jones successfully prosecuted two members of the Ku Klux Klan for their roles in the 1963 bombing of Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church. The attack killed four young Black girls. He represented Alabama in the Senate from 2018 to 2021 and was most recently an adviser to the Biden administration during the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.Â
