Threats and security incidents targeting judges in the United States have climbed sharply to unprecedented levels. Each year, hundreds of judges receive threats against themselves and their families. In addition, the number of security incidents happening in the courthouse and courtroom are climbing.

This is a comprehensive security course and will focus on personal security for judges and their families as well as security policies, designs and tactics for the courthouse and the courtroom. Using the NJC’s model courtroom, real-life de-escalation and security tactics will be emphasized.
