Have courts played a role in perpetuating injustice?

(Spoiler alert: yes!)

What are key things that state court justice systems can do to respond to racial injustice and promote public trust and confidence? Join several members of the Washington Supreme Court in a conversation moderated by Dean Kellye Testy as they share with you: the process that led them to be one of the first state supreme courts in the U.S. to respond to the death of George Floyd and the subsequent protests with a written statement which was signed by all of its justices; balancing their rules of ethics and their commitment to advancing justice; the way they have used “truth telling” to begin the process of reconciliation; and, the leadership role the judiciary can and must take to ensure equal justice under the law.
