WHAT: The judges, wearing robes, will be discussing Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor’s autobiographical children’s book “Turning Pages, My Life Story,” with 26 12-year-olds from the Boys and Girls Club of Elko County. Each child will receive an autographed copy of the book and another book of Sotomayor’s, “Just Ask: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You!” The latter book illustrates and explains how special-needs children deal with various challenges, including blindness, autism, asthma and juvenile or Type 1 diabetes; Type 1 diabetes remains an issue for Sotomayor herself.
