Please join us in dialogue with members of our community who can speak to the promise and challenges of finding and restoring justice. Panelists include Professor Thalia González, Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for Racial & Economic Justice, who has written extensively about restorative justice; Jimmy Hung, the King County Juvenile Division Chief Deputy Prosecutor, who has worked directly with restorative justice practices in the criminal legal system; Saroeum Phoung, a skilled peacemaking circle keeper, teacher, and spirit leader; and Washington State Representative and founding Director of Civil Survival Tarra Simmons, who has lived experience as a formerly-incarcerated individual who later earned her juris doctor and now works to help individuals reentering the community from incarceration navigate their civil legal needs.
