Hon. Daniel H. Sleet Scholarship Fund
Judge Daniel H. Sleet of Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal was named Judge of the Year in 2021 by the Florida chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
In recognition, an anonymous donor who is a fellow member of the Florida ABOTA with Judge Sleet, has established a scholarship fund for judges to participate in NJC courses. The donor will match all donations up to a total of $5,000.
Judge Sleet practiced law for 19 years before being appointed to Florida’s 13th Judicial Circuit Court in 2005 by Governor Jeb Bush. He was reelected to the circuit court without opposition in 2008 and served until December 2012, when Governor Rick Scott appointed him to the appellate bench.
In 2015, he was selected Jurist of the Year by the Tampa Bay ABOTA Chapter. In 2017, he served as president of the Tampa Bay ABOTA Chapter.
