The National Judicial College to Honor Ned Madeira, Esq., Hon. Al DiBona, and the Court of Common Pleas – First Judicial District of Pennsylvania on June 15

Ned Madeira, Esq. of Pennsylvania, along with Hon. Alred J. DiBona, Jr. will be honored for his advancement of justice at a reception in Philadelphia in June.

The National Judicial College will be honoring Ned Madeira, Esq., of Pennsylvania, on June 15 at a special reception held by the Pennsylvania First Judicial District. Madeira will be receiving the NJC Board of Visitors “Advancement of Justice” award for his outstanding contribution to the legal and judicial professions. The Advancement of Justice award is presented to a distinguished person or entity that has demonstrated dedication to improving justice in the judiciary.

“The NJC is pleased to honor such a dedicated and worthy individual such as Mr. Madeira,” noted William F. Dressel, president of The National Judicial College. “His commitment to advancing justice is well documented and the NJC is pleased to be in Philadelphia to recognize his achievements.”

Also being recognized for its achievements is the Court of Common Pleas – First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for its timely access to justice, and Judge Alfred J. DiBona, Jr. for his outstanding commitment to the advancement of justice.

“The Court of Common Pleas has had a positive impact on the community and state through its innovative services, programs and court operations,” continued Dressel. “Their accomplishments and service to the State of Pennsylvania are also worthy of recognition.”

NJC participants who are attending Dispute Resolution Skills on June 14-18, 2009 in Philadelphia, will be able to attend a special dinner at the National Constitution Center and a reception at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Both events are sponsored by the First Judicial District. The dinner and award reception will be held on Monday, June 15 with an additional court-sponsored reception on Wednesday, June 17th. Both receptions provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with judges who make up the First Judicial District.
