Spring into Support for the NJC!
4/8/10
For more than four decades, The National Judicial College has been meeting the ever-changing challenges of educating our nation’s judiciary. As a result, the ability of judges to deliver and promote access to justice continues to improve, benefitting all Americans. Our greatest challenge for the new decade will be continuing to provide outstanding educational opportunities in light of severe judicial education budget cuts. Over the past 47 years, donor support has made the College stronger, and we look to you, current and potential donors, to assist us in the future. The NJC is being proactive in the face of what could be a long economic recovery. The years ahead will continue to demand new ways of thinking about and delivering education. The NJC is stepping up to ensure that career enhancing judicial education continues uninterrupted. In light of the economy, the NJC is taking courses and programs to states where judges cannot travel out of state. In May, Enhancing Judicial Bench Skills will be presented in Florida, and judges from New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine will participate in a regional program this spring. In addition, we have increased our offerings of online courses, webcasts and webinars. Instead of looking at the economy as an obstacle, we are looking at it as an opportunity, one that encourages us to refresh our thinking, create new learning experiences, and emerge stronger than before. Our nation’s judiciary deserves our best effort, and the opportunity to improve the knowledge skills and ability to deliver justice will not be deterred. This is why I reach out to you, our donors, friends and future donors, to continue and begin supporting the College. Over the years, donor support has made us the institution of excellence in education that we are today. With your assistance, we will continue that capability well into the future.
