"The more that judges learn, the more effectively they can administer the law.
In my opinion, the NJC provides the best environment for that learning, period."
– NJC faculty member, Professor Ron Hofer

Amidst the difficult and trying time our nation is facing with the current recession, The National Judicial College programs continue to be a positive resource to judges. The time that judges spend in NJC classrooms directly influences their role in courtrooms and communities across America.

As an NJC faculty member, Professor Ron Hofer of Wisconsin, a freelance writing consultant and adjunct professor of law at Marquette University Law School, understands how important it is to provide a classroom environment where lecturing comes second to dialogue and thoughtful and insightful discussion is the cornerstone of learning. Like all NJC faculty, Professor Hofer strives to provide the best experience possible in every NJC class he teaches. He recently said, “The key to judges' retaining classroom information is to present relevant and practical material in a thought-provoking way. My goal is to make my classes memorable so judges go back to their courtrooms with real-world skills they can use their first day back on the bench.”

Consistently evaluated as an outstanding NJC faculty member – Professor Hofer’s strategy is working. Students in his judicial writing classes and seminars have said, “It’s difficult to believe there is a more effective presenter on a more difficult topic” and, “The instructor was very knowledgeable and captivated the audience. My writing will have a definite improvement as a result of this course.”

In addition to his many contributions to NJC programs, Professor Hofer is also an annual donor to the NJC. He understands how important it is that institutions like NJC continue to thrive – even amid economic uncertainties. We hope that you will join Professor Hofer and support The National Judicial College this year with an annual gift. You can do so by simply clicking here to access our secure online donation form.

Thank you for your consideration – especially during this challenging fiscal environment. Large or small, your donation makes a difference in the NJC classroom, in the courtroom and in your very own community.

Sincerely,

William F. Dressel
President
